Intentional Living
How to Find Joy Outside of Books
I realize the irony of this post isn’t lost on anyone. My last post was all about the upcoming book releases I’m excited for, and now I’m writing about finding joy outside of books. I know, I know, but that’s the beauty of reading (and life, really). It ebbs and flows. (which I did write about here.) Sometimes we are devouring pages late into the night, and other times we’re more present in the small, everyday joys around us. Lately, I’ve been in one of those slower reading seasons. My TBR is still stacked, my anticipation is still growing, but my energy hasn’t always matched my ambitions. And instead of…
What I’m Loving Lately: Spring 2025
Instead of rushing into new goals or big to-do lists for the summer, I decided to pause and look back. The second quarter of the year was a fun quarter. There is so much I look back on and feel good about. There was so much that made me feel grounded. Little things that helped me reconnect with joy and even some new things I fell in love with. Here’s my gentle Q2 recap. A soft reflection of all the little things I truly loved from April through June. Slow Morning Rituals As the weather began to warm up after what felt like an extremely frigid winter, I started leaning…
Setting Intentions Instead of Goals for 2025
Happy new year! I’ve been slowing easing my way into the new year. Not really pushing myself hard into starting on big goals or focusing all of my energy into becoming a better version of myself. This year, I decided to do things a bit differently. I decided to set some intentions for myself, instead of setting goals. (Just a side note: I’m new to this and testing it out, I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve had success with intentions over goals! Or even a mix of both!) So what exactly is the different between a goal and an intention? According to a quick Google search, goals are…
What I’m Loving Lately: Summer 2024
This summer felt like a corporate girlie edition because I felt like I spent all summer in the office. Despite feeling like I avoided the heat as much as possible, I definitely still found some new mini-obsessions! Books Wisteria by Adalyn Grace The trilogy is now complete! I was so sad to finish this series. I have enjoyed uncovering mysteries, falling in love with the unluckiest of characters, and rooting for our uniquely interesting main characters. Series Review / Goodreads / Storygraph The Legends of Thezmarr by Helen Scheurer Another four book series that I had so much fun reading! Blood & Steel is a fantastic introduction to the world…
What I’m Loving Lately: Spring 2024 Edition
Sometimes life can feel super stagnant and then I’ll see a video, a post, or an article from another creator talking about what they’ve been up to. I find these so interesting because I usually always end up with some new mini-obsession. So as winter frost melts away into a lush and blooming Spring, here’s some of what I have been loving lately! Books A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen This was such an amazing read! I listened to the audiobook on Spotify and could NOT stop listening. I enjoyed this book so much I am considering diving into The Broken Kingdoms series by Danielle L. Jensen…
2024 Quarter Year Reset + Goals Review
If I am being honest, I’ve never thought too much about doing a quarter year reset. I’ve never even really tried anything outside of a yearly reset. I like to watch/read about other creators doing their weekly and monthly resets, but never considered participating. But now, the time has come. Q1 was a bit rough. I didn’t really start out too strong on all fronts and now we’re into Q2 and I’m still kinda struggling. So I think the best way to approach a quarter reset is to look over my goals, be honest about how I’ve been doing, and then deciding if what I am doing is working or…
