My November Reading Recap

This post may contain affiliate links. Disclosure here.

November was a much slower month for me in terms of reading. As I finished “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” by J.K. Rowling towards the end of October, I found myself wanting to slow down. Then I caught a cold from work and my wish came true. So in November, I read “Daisy Darker” by Alice Feeney. The review for this book will be up in a few days because (ya’ll) I have some thoughts. So let’s dive into my November reading recap.

This month, I devoured “Daisy Darker” by Alice Feeney. This book I bought this from Book of the Month. (This post is not sponsored by BOTM nor am I still subscribed**). It was one of the book of the month’s August picks and the summary instantly pulled me in. When I say pulled me in, I stayed up till 2 am on a Tuesday night to find out what the heck was going on.

In essence, Daisy Darker and her family gather at her nana’s home, Seaglass, for Nana’s 80th birthday. However, the Darker family harbors secrets and each secret becomes the thing that kills them. On the hour, every hour, another member of the Darker family is killed and it is up to the family members left to find out who is killing them off.

That might seem like a spoiler, however, the real twists and turns are reserved for later on in the book. The story is intricate and full of details about the Darker family. I’ll be posting an in-depth review of “Daisy Darker” soon. *This will be updated with the link to the book review article once it is posted.*

Although I haven’t finished it, right now I am currently reading “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” by J.K. Rowling. So that will be included in my December recap and I am hoping to finish the Harry Potter series before the end of December.

On a side note, if you’ve been reading my reading recaps since I began posting them earlier this year, you might have noticed I am missing my to-be-read (tbr) hopefuls for the next month. I noticed that I was not reading the books I had listed as wanting to read. So it started to feel a bit pointless to continue adding short lists of books.

As silly as it might seem, I’ve also come to notice how easily persuaded I am to read popular #booktok books. Despite that, I have also noticed that I have read so many trending books that I absolutely did not like. #booktok is a mixed bag for me, I have found some books I have absolutely loved and others I have not. For now, I’ll be focusing on my reading recaps and leaving my tbr list alone for the meantime.

That being said, I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts on “Daisy Darker” by Alice Feeney. Like I said earlier, I have a lot of thoughts. Have you read this book? I’d love to hear what you thought of this story.

**I do also have some thoughts about Book of the Month, which will post later on. It’ll be linked in this article once it is posted.
